Iran's FM Araghchi meets Swiss counterpart in Zurich

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with his Swiss counterpart in Zurich on Sunday, June 21, 2025. The meeting took place as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements between Iran and Switzerland.

The Iranian delegation, named "Minab 168" in remembrance of children martyred in a US-Israeli strike on an elementary school in Iran's southern city of Minab on February 28, arrived in Zurich in the early hours of Sunday. The delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who arrived in Zurich late on Saturday to participate in the Bürgenstock meetings regarding the implementation process of the Iran-US Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Initial talks between Iran and the United States were planned at the Bürgenstock mountaintop resort in Switzerland on Friday, following the signing of a ceasefire agreement between Tehran and Washington. The meeting between Araghchi and his Swiss counterpart is seen as part of broader diplomatic efforts.

According to Mehr News, the discussions covered bilateral relations and regional issues. The report did not provide further details on the outcomes of the meeting.
