Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with the Iraqi President in Baghdad on Sunday for talks covering a range of issues, including bilateral relations, the latest regional developments, and matters of mutual interest. The visit also focused on coordinating funeral rituals for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, at Iraq's holy shrines.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation and discussed the current situation in the region. One of the key items on the agenda was coordinating with relevant Iraqi authorities for commemoration ceremonies for the late Leader at holy sites in Iraq.
Earlier on Sunday, Araghchi also held separate meetings with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, and Prime Minister Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi. The discussions underscored the importance of strengthening ties between the two neighboring countries.
According to Mehr News, the visit aimed to deepen bilateral relations and address regional challenges, with a particular emphasis on honoring the memory of the late Leader through joint ceremonies.
