SaveIranian source denies missile talks with US
An Iranian source has categorically denied reports suggesting that Iran may enter talks with the United States over its missile capabilities. The source stressed that missile-related issues are fundamentally not on the agenda of the negotiations, adding that the published memorandum of understanding clearly indicates that no such topics are included in the discussions.
Rejecting the claims, the source said, "The missile issue is not on the negotiating agenda in any way, and it is unclear with what objectives such claims are being raised. This allegation is categorically denied."
The denial comes after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was reported earlier today to have said that ballistic missiles would be included in the next round of talks between Tehran and Washington. The Iranian source's statement directly contradicts that assertion.
According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the source emphasized that the published memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US does not mention missile topics, and any suggestion otherwise is unfounded. The report by Mehr News Agency added that the Iranian side remains firm on its position that missile capabilities are non-negotiable.
