IRGC official says Iran achieved strategic victory in war with US

Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, Deputy Commander for Political Affairs of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said late on Tuesday that the Iranian nation has achieved a strategic victory in the war against the United States. He was speaking at a meeting with residents of Bandar Abbas.

Javani said the enemy entered the war with Iran assuming it could collapse the Islamic Republic and cause the disintegration of the country. At the outset, he said, the enemy imagined that a lightning offensive and high-intensity warfare could topple the Islamic Republic, cripple its defense and security structures, fragment Iran, and impose its own domination over the country. "But it made a big mistake in its calculations," Javani said.

Referring to the Iranian nation's slogan "Allahu Akbar" (God is the Greatest), he added that for a nation whose reliance is upon the Almighty, defeat is meaningless. He cited the late Imam Khomeini (RA), who said that the United States cannot do a damn thing.

Regarding the recent developments following what he described as the Ramadan War, a 40-day conflict, Javani said, "The enemy launched the war with the aim of weakening and collapsing the Islamic Republic; but today, by the admission and assessment of many around the world, Islamic Iran is stronger than it was before the war."

Javani also referred to a change in the enemy's approach after it failed to achieve its military objectives. He said the enemy has now turned to hybrid warfare, pursuing economic pressures, maritime and aerial restrictions, and efforts to undermine the public's resilience. Over the past four decades, the United States has repeatedly exerted such pressures on the Iranian nation, he added, but the nation has demonstrated that it stands firm against such pressure.

According to Mehr News, the remarks were made during a public meeting in Bandar Abbas and focused on Iran's assessment of the conflict and its aftermath.
