Iran warns UK, France against arming Israel

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has warned the United Kingdom and France against continuing to arm the Israeli regime. In a statement posted on social media, Gharibabadi noted that more than 100 senior former British and French diplomats had warned their governments that Israeli policy was heading toward "ethnic cleansing" and the "erasure of Palestine."

The former diplomats, according to Gharibabadi, had called on London and Paris to stop weapons transfers to Israel, ban trade with Israeli settlements, and implement the decisions of the international courts in The Hague. Gharibabadi stressed that London and Paris must not hide behind the word "concern" in this situation. He said, "Continuing to send weapons and any support for the regime is a conscious choice to cooperate in and participate in the crimes of the Zionist regime."

The statement comes amid ongoing international scrutiny of Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and the broader Palestinian territories. The conflict has drawn widespread condemnation, with many countries and international organizations calling for a ceasefire and accountability for alleged violations of international law.

Iran has consistently opposed Israeli policies and has been a vocal supporter of Palestinian rights. The Islamic Republic has repeatedly called on the international community to take concrete measures to halt Israeli aggression and hold the regime accountable for its actions.

According to Mehr News Agency, Gharibabadi's remarks reflect Iran's position that continued arms sales and political support for Israel constitute complicity in alleged crimes against the Palestinian people. The deputy foreign minister's statement underscores Tehran's demand for decisive action from Western nations, particularly the UK and France, to align their policies with international legal rulings and humanitarian principles.
