Iran warns Arab states against aiding US aggression

Major General Ali Abdollahi, chief of staff of Iran's Armed Forces, has issued a stern warning to Persian Gulf Arab states against any complicity in potential US military action against Iran.

In a message, General Abdollahi addressed the claims of some Persian Gulf states that they would not allow the United States to use their territory for an attack on Iran. He stated, "They should know that nothing is hidden from our eyes. This volume of military aircraft, especially refuelling planes, in regional bases is unlikely to be occurring without the knowledge of the host countries."

He further cautioned, "We warn: any assistance and facilitation provided to the aggressor U.S. army is tantamount to participation with U.S. military forces."

The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with Washington having increased its military presence in the region. The warning underscores Iran's concerns that regional countries might facilitate US operations against it.

According to Mehr News Agency, General Abdollahi's message was published on Sunday, emphasizing the Islamic Republic's vigilance regarding regional military movements. The statement did not specify which countries were being addressed, but it is widely understood to refer to the Persian Gulf Arab states that host US military bases.

Iran has repeatedly warned against any foreign military intervention in the region and has vowed to respond decisively to any aggression. The latest statement reinforces Tehran's stance that any support for US actions would be viewed as an act of hostility.
