Iran urges international bodies to treat all terrorism victims equally

Speaking at a memorial service for victims of terrorism held in Tehran on Saturday, Kazem Gharibabadi, Secretary of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, expressed gratitude to the distinguished audience and the esteemed families of martyrs of terrorism, as well as to the Habilian Foundation and the Foreign Ministry's Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) for organizing the meeting to commemorate the victims of terrorism.

Gharibabadi emphasized that terrorism does not begin with the killing of one person; a bullet may take a person from a family in a matter of seconds, but the suffering of that family will continue for years. He posed a fundamental question: whether the international community treats all victims of terrorism equally in practice, and whether the voices of all bereaved families are heard equally.

He noted that terrorism in Iran has had different aspects, sometimes in the form of explosions in public places, and sometimes in the form of assassinations of personalities, among others. He added that alongside these events, an issue that should not be forgotten is the international community's treatment of terrorist perpetrators.

According to Mehr News Agency, the remarks were made during a ceremony that brought together families of terrorism victims and officials to honor their memory and highlight the ongoing challenges faced by those affected by terrorism.
