Iran will not yield to US excessive demands, parliament speaker Ghalibaf says

Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Wednesday that Iran will never surrender to US demands, telling an open session of the parliament that Washington's hostility toward Tehran is rooted in the Iranian people's resistance to what he described as American expansionist aims. According to Mehr News, Ghalibaf said the United States has long sought to dominate Iran, first through subservient puppet rulers and today through military, economic and cognitive warfare.

The speaker said the steadfastness of the Iranian people has driven both the US government and Israel to a state of frustration. He argued that Iran has given a strong and rational response to the US side and that the ball is now in Washington's court. He also said that through the two recent wars imposed on Iran, the United States and its regional allies have come to understand that the era of excessive demands has ended.

Ghalibaf further stated that the Iranian nation has turned its pursuit of independence into an aspiration for freedom-seeking nations around the world. He described the American approach as deep-rooted hostility toward the Iranian nation, attributing it to Iran's refusal to accept US demands.

The remarks were made during the parliament's open session on Wednesday.
