Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, reaffirming Iran's commitment to diplomatic solutions under international law. Pezeshkian stated that Iran does not seek the path of war and is ready to continue diplomacy with the United States to end the current confrontation. He appreciated the role played by regional countries, especially Pakistan, Turkey, and other Muslim states, in facilitating a memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the US last week to end US-Israeli aggression against Iran and its allies. Pezeshkian emphasized that regional countries should work to expand a potential peace deal between Iran and the US to prevent Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Palestine. He also expressed regret that trade and economic relations between Iran and Turkey have been affected by recent US-Israeli aggression on Iran, and proposed forming an intergovernmental committee to boost economic ties. Erdogan praised Iran for its logical stance against those seeking to sabotage negotiations, particularly the "genocidal Israeli regime," and expressed confidence that Iran would keep the path of diplomacy alive. He reiterated Turkey's fair stance in rejecting intervention against Iran and called for a swift return to dialogue to normalize and expand relations among Muslim countries. According to Mehr News Agency, the conversation highlighted the shared commitment of both leaders to regional stability and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
