Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has conveyed a congratulatory message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India's 79th Independence Day, reaffirming Iran's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

In his message, President Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran is ready to take effective steps toward enhancing relations between the two countries, ensuring mutual interests based on mutual respect and trust, and utilizing the extensive existing potential. He underscored that expanding comprehensive relations between Iran and India holds great importance.

The Iranian president highlighted the deep historical, cultural, civilizational, and people-to-people bonds between the two nations, describing them as a valuable asset for defining clearer prospects for bilateral relations based on common interests. He reiterated Iran's resolve to strengthen comprehensive ties with India, stating that the Islamic Republic is prepared to take more effective steps toward consolidating relations and advancing shared interests through mutual trust and respect.

Pezeshkian also wished India continued prosperity, progress, welfare, and happiness, expressing hope for the further consolidation and flourishing of the longstanding relations between the two countries.

India gained independence on August 15, 1947. According to Mehr News Agency, the message was delivered on the occasion of India's Independence Day.
