Iran, Russia FMs Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Issues, Islamabad Talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone conversation on Tuesday, during which they discussed a range of issues including bilateral ties, matters of mutual interest, the latest regional developments, and the Islamabad understanding.

Araghchi briefed his Russian counterpart on the details of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States, emphasizing Washington's responsibility for the proper implementation of its clauses and the need for a complete cessation of the Zionist regime's aggression against Lebanon.

Lavrov welcomed the finalization of the text of the MoU and reaffirmed Russia's full support for the implementation of its provisions. Both ministers stressed the necessity for the international community and the United Nations Security Council to back this understanding, highlighting the importance of continued diplomatic cooperation among regional countries to establish peace and stability.

The two sides also exchanged views on certain bilateral issues and agreed to follow up on them as soon as possible.

According to Mehr News, the phone call underscored the ongoing coordination between Tehran and Moscow on key regional and international matters.
