Iran warns of response targeting US and Israeli infrastructure

An Iranian official has warned that Iran is prepared to strike critical infrastructure belonging to the United States and Israel in response to any potential attacks. The official, speaking to Mehr News Agency, described U.S. media reports about possible American and Israeli attacks on Iranian infrastructure as "a kind of madness."

The official stated, "We have prepared an extensive programme for responding to possible American madness, which includes the critical infrastructure of the Zionist regime and U.S. energy infrastructure in the region, and we are ready for it." He added that Iran's armed forces, "both in the 40-day war and in its continuation in recent weeks, have demonstrated both the capability and the will to carry out such actions."

The warning comes amid weeks of intensifying military exchanges between Iranian and U.S. forces. Iran has struck American bases across the region, while U.S. forces have continued to hit Iranian territory. Additionally, Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, vowing that it will remain shut until U.S. military interference ends.

According to Mehr News Agency, the official's remarks underscore Tehran's readiness to respond to any military action, with a focus on U.S. energy infrastructure in the region and Israeli critical infrastructure. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military maneuvers.
