Iran rejects Trump's threats, warns of strong response

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has strongly protested against the language of intimidation used by US President Donald Trump. In a post on his X account in Farsi, Ghalibaf stated that Iran does not value Trump's threats. He emphasized that while the US side only engages in talk without action, the Iranian armed forces are prepared to respond forcefully to any threats, matching words with deeds.

Trump, on his Truth Social platform, posted during ongoing talks in Switzerland, demanding that Iran immediately stop its "highly paid proxies in Lebanon from causing trouble." He warned, "If they don’t, we’ll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder." This statement came despite a memorandum of understanding signed between Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian the previous Wednesday, which explicitly states that fighting must cease on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon.

Reports indicate that the Iranian negotiating team walked out of the negotiation room after witnessing Trump's threatening language against Iran. The incident highlights the fragile state of US-Iran relations and the challenges in diplomatic engagement.

According to Mehr News Agency, the Iranian side views Trump's remarks as a violation of the spirit of the signed agreement and a return to a confrontational approach. The situation remains tense as both sides exchange accusations and warnings.
