During a ceremony in Tehran marking the national Government Week, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, identified the development of nuclear fusion as a priority for the future of the nuclear industry. He stated that Iran must advance in this field by relying on domestic capabilities, knowledge-based companies, and universities.
Eslami added that the AEOI's innovation network has enabled fusion activities to move beyond the technology demonstration stage toward system development and capability building. This indicates a strategic shift in Iran's nuclear program, focusing on long-term energy solutions.
In addition, Eslami described the opening of a non-destructive testing (NDT) training center as a step toward improving industrial quality, advancing technology, and training specialized personnel in the country. The NDT center is expected to contribute to the development of skilled workforce and enhance industrial standards.
According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), these remarks were made during the Government Week ceremony, highlighting Iran's commitment to advancing its nuclear capabilities, particularly in the field of fusion energy, which is seen as a clean and virtually limitless source of power.
