Iran's top security official, Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), said on Wednesday that all Iranian leaders regard Pakistan as the Islamic Republic's strategic partner, describing the bond between the two neighbors as a "true and faith-based affection."
During a meeting with visiting Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Rezaei stated that Iran views the government, army, and people of Pakistan as "great assets of the Islamic world." He expressed pleasure at the increased engagement of Pakistan's prime minister and army chief in regional developments.
Rezaei emphasized that Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Indonesia have a duty to take steps toward Islamic unity. He added that President Masoud Pezeshkian attaches special importance to Pakistan and believes trade between the two countries should multiply several times over.
"The affection between the people of Iran and Pakistan is beyond description and is exemplary in the world," Rezaei said.
According to Mehr News Agency, the meeting highlighted the strong bilateral ties and the shared commitment to regional stability and cooperation.
