Iran Says Strait of Hormuz Will Not Reopen Until Its Conditions Are Met

A Friday prayers leader in Tehran, Mohammad Javad Haj Ali-Akbari, said during his sermon that Iran has announced its conditions and will decide on its next steps once those conditions are met. He stressed that the seven conditions put forward by Iran must be fulfilled before any further decisions are taken.

Addressing the Strait of Hormuz, Haj Ali-Akbari said that any expectation the strait would reopen before Iran's conditions are fulfilled is nothing more than an illusion. He added that the current situation would continue until the specified conditions are met.

The interim prayers leader also emphasized what he described as a changing balance of power in the region. He said recent developments showed that resistance, regional security and the future of the U.S. presence in West Asia would remain among the key factors shaping the region's future equations.

According to Mehr News, the remarks were made during the Friday Prayers sermon in the Iranian capital. The report did not specify the seven conditions or provide a timeline for when they might be met.
