President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Wednesday that Iran has never sought war and does not intend to wage one, but will not submit to force or bullying, adding that this principle is rooted in the beliefs of the Iranian people. He was speaking at an event in Tehran marking the National Day of Exports, according to Mehr News.
The president began his remarks by commemorating the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, particularly the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who he said had always emphasized support for Iranian exporters. Pezeshkian used the occasion to thank exporters for their continuous efforts in maintaining export activity despite sanctions imposed against the country.
Pezeshkian said the country is currently facing numerous problems and challenges, noting that his administration has been dealing with many of them since its first day in office and that war and other pressures have now been added. He said the United States did not anticipate that Iran would be able to stand firm in the face of the attacks it launched and the sanctions it imposed, and stated that Iran has stood firm and will continue its progress with steadfastness.
He reiterated that Iran has never sought war and has no intention of waging war, while stressing that it will by no means submit to force or bullying. He described this principle as deeply rooted in Iranians' beliefs and credence.
The remarks came at an event dedicated to national exports, where the president highlighted the role of exporters operating under sanctions. The report by Mehr News added that the occasion was also used to honor the memory of the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution and to acknowledge the work of Iranian exporters.
