Iran says it has not acted outside international law: Pezeshkian

In a phone call with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran has never acted outside international law and has always sought to improve relations with its neighbors. He emphasized that Iran has never sought unrest in the region.

Pezeshkian blamed the United States and the Israeli regime for breaking regional peace and stability, citing the assassination of the Leader, the killing of scores of civilians including the Minab schoolchildren, and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. He did not provide further details on these incidents.

For her part, the Japanese Prime Minister said that Tokyo supports diplomatic methods to end the war and welcomed progress in Iran-Oman talks on the Strait of Hormuz, expressing hope that the waterway would soon reopen. She also asked Iran to use its influence to prevent rising tensions in the Bab el-Mandeb strait.

Both leaders stressed their will to continue dialogue and develop the historic ties between the two nations. According to Mehr News Agency, the phone call took place amid ongoing regional tensions, with Japan playing a mediating role in diplomatic efforts.
