Iran FM spokesman says US must accept Iran's resilience after failed pressure campaign

Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baghaei said on Wednesday that the United States has no choice but to accept what he described as Iran's reality of invincibility. In a post on his X account, Baghaei wrote, "Pride comes before a fall," and addressed Washington directly, saying that "driven by greed & hubris, and acting in the service of a deceitful regime, you dragged your country into an unlawful and atrocious war against Iran."

Baghaei said that American "calculations failed," that "assumptions collapsed," and that "strategic misjudgments became painfully evident - all because you fundamentally misunderstood Iran and, more importantly, the resilience, determination, and national pride of the Iranian nation." He added that "the American people have now sent you a clear message," warning that if the United States continues to "disregard reality, dismiss the lessons of history, and persist in this dangerous course, the consequences of this grave miscalculation will extend far beyond what you have already witnessed."

The foreign ministry spokesman urged his audience to "repeat these words until their meaning becomes impossible to ignore" and to "hear them until you finally understand the reality behind them: Attacking Iran does not bring victory. It only results in defeat." He concluded that "Iran is not a nation that can be understood through arrogance, intimidated through threats, or brought to its knees through aggression," and referred to the date as the 13th of Aban, the tenth month of the Iranian calendar.

The remarks come amid continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington. Baghaei's post referenced what he called a US-Israeli war against Iran, framing the confrontation as a strategic miscalculation by the United States. The statement did not provide further details on specific events or timelines.
