Iranian negotiators in Geneva refuse joint photo with US delegation

A source told Tasnim news agency that the American delegation and meeting organizers had planned a handshake and joint photo ceremony between the Iranian and American delegations at the start of talks. The head of the Iranian negotiating team and its members opposed these formalities and announced they would not participate in the photo-op with the American delegation. Following the Iranian team's opposition and their absence from the ceremony, the live broadcast and photo-op were halted. After that, the Iranian delegation entered the meeting venue. The American delegation had requested five minutes for journalists to leave the negotiations venue, the source added. The ceremony was held before the negotiations without the presence of the Iranian delegation. According to Mehr News Agency, the talks took place in Geneva.
