Rallies commemorating the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance and Students' Day were held in more than 900 locations across Iran on Wednesday. The central slogan for this year's events was "Pledge to the Martyrs; Struggle Against Global Arrogance." In Tehran, the march began at 9 a.m. from Palestine Square, with participants proceeding along Taleghani Street before gathering outside the former US embassy, which was seized by Iranian students in November 1979 and later renamed the Den of Espionage.
Mostafa Rostami, head of the Central Headquarters for the Commemoration of November 4, said special programs for school and university students had been arranged along the Tehran march route. These included service and cultural booths, exhibitions, and activities designed to explain the significance of the occasion, with students and university participants taking an active role. The organizing committee also invited religious groups, mosque activists, and members of the public from different walks of life to join the demonstrations.
The Aban 13th anniversary was commemorated with the participation of people and students of Tehran marching from Palestine Square toward the former US embassy. On November 4, 1979, Iranian students took over the US embassy in Tehran in protest of US conspiracies against the Islamic Revolution, according to the organizers.
According to Mehr News, the rallies were held amid threats, though the report did not specify the nature of the threats. The events were held across the country with the stated aim of commemorating the occasion and reaffirming opposition to what Iranian authorities describe as global arrogance.
