On the second day of his visit to Iraq, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf held talks with Qassem al-Aboudi in Baghdad on Thursday. The two sides exchanged views on a range of issues, including bilateral relations and the development of political and security cooperation. They also discussed the latest developments in the region.
Ghalibaf arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday morning at the head of a parliamentary delegation for talks on bilateral relations, border security, counter-terrorism, and economic cooperation. The visit was made at the invitation of Iraq's parliament speaker.
The Iranian delegation includes Mohammad Taghi Naghdali, head of the Iran-Iraq parliamentary friendship group, as well as Mahdi Fallah, Shahin Jahanigiri, and Sara Fallahi.
According to Mehr News Agency, the meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to enhance cooperation in various fields, particularly security, reflecting the strong ties between Iran and Iraq.
