Brigadier General Mohammad Karami, commander of the Ground Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), stated on Monday during a visit to northwestern Iran that the forces stationed in the operational areas of the region are fully prepared to confront any miscalculation by enemies and the leaders and members of terrorist groups. He emphasized that the forces of the Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base have gained valuable experience through years of defending Iran's territory.
General Karami noted that these forces possess a combination of faith, modern technology, and scientific capabilities that enhance their readiness. He warned that Iranian forces are prepared to turn the land into a mass graveyard for malicious elements and mercenaries, underscoring the seriousness of their defensive posture.
The commander's remarks were made during a visit to the northwestern provinces, including West Azarbaijan and Kordestan, which border Iraqi Kurdistan. This area has been a focus of Iranian military operations against separatist and terrorist groups operating across the border.
According to Press TV, General Karami's statements reflect Iran's ongoing commitment to securing its borders and countering threats from militant groups. The IRGC has repeatedly conducted operations in the region to dismantle terrorist cells and prevent cross-border infiltrations.
The visit and the commander's assertions come amid heightened regional tensions, with Iran closely monitoring developments in neighboring countries. The IRGC's presence in the northwest is part of a broader strategy to maintain stability and protect Iran's territorial integrity.
In his address, General Karami also highlighted the importance of intelligence superiority, stating that Iran has total intelligence dominance in the region. This capability, he said, enables Iranian forces to anticipate and neutralize threats before they materialize.
The report by Press TV added that the IRGC Ground Force commander's visit was aimed at assessing the readiness of units stationed in the area and boosting morale among the troops. The Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base, named after a revered Shia martyr, plays a key role in Iran's defense architecture in the northwest.
Iran has consistently maintained that it will not tolerate any threats to its national security and will respond decisively to any aggression. The statements by General Karami reinforce this stance, signaling that Iran is prepared to defend its borders with full force if necessary.
