Iran says over 50 combat and support units deployed along its borders

Brigadier General Ali Jahanshahi, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army's Ground Forces, said more than 50 combat and support units are deployed along the country's borders, according to Mehr News Agency (MNA).

Jahanshahi said the deployments extend from the northwest to the southwest, across the eastern regions and along the Makran coast. He said the units maintain an effective presence on the borders and the readiness needed to confront threats.

The commander said the ground force units were deployed in various border areas before the US-Israeli war. "The bulk of the ground force units are stationed on the borders of the northwest, west, southwest, east, northeast and southeast of the country, especially on the Makran coast, and by God's grace they enjoy very good readiness," he said.

Jahanshahi said the deployed units include special forces, rapid reaction, special operations, mechanized and artillery units, and that they have the necessary support. He had made similar remarks on September 20, when he said the units had an effective presence on the country's borders and the readiness required to confront threats.

The statements come amid continuing regional tensions and references to what Iranian officials describe as US and US-Israeli aggression against Iran. The report by Mehr News Agency did not provide further details on the specific locations or numbers of individual units beyond the commander's remarks.
