Iran's Judiciary announced on Wednesday that Ali Sina Mostafavi was executed in the southern city of Kerman after the Supreme Court confirmed his death sentence. In a statement, the Judiciary described Mostafavi as an "agent of the American-Zionist enemy" and said he had carried out several armed operations during the 40-day conflict known as the Ramadan War.
The statement said Mostafavi's first armed attack occurred on March 24, when he opened fire in Azadi Square in Kerman, injuring a citizen and a young girl. On April 21, he fired on conscripts and passing vehicles, injuring several citizens, according to the Judiciary. The Judiciary's Media Center said technical investigations and case documents showed that Mostafavi was an active member of a "monarchist terrorist" organization inside Iran and had extensive connections to hostile media outlets.
Inquiries revealed communications on his mobile phone, and the Judiciary said he was also active during the foreign-backed riots of early January, sending images and videos to hostile media. It added that Mostafavi had filmed sites hit by enemy projectiles and sent the footage to anti-Iranian networks. According to the court, documents on his phone showed he had expressed readiness, through messages to Persian-language hostile media, to carry out terrorist operations inside Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani Airport in Kerman. Press TV reported that Mostafavi had also sent many messages to Israel's Persian-language Instagram account.
The case documents further showed two earlier unsuccessful shootings at the Kerman-Mahan traffic police, the Judiciary said. The execution was carried out after legal procedures and confirmation of the verdict by the Supreme Court, according to the statement. The report by Mehr News added that the Judiciary provided these details in its announcement of the execution.
