Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh emphasized enhancing port and transit cooperation with Kazakhstan during her visit to the Caspian Sea littoral country. She made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian businesspersons in Aktau, Kazakhstan on Friday.
During her visit, Sadegh held meetings with Kazakh officials, including the ministers of transport, trade and integration, and economy, to discuss ways to expand bilateral relations. Enhancing connectivity and increasing transit capacity for agricultural products, oil products, and other goods between Iran and Kazakhstan were among the main objectives of her trip.
The discussions focused on improving port infrastructure and transit corridors to facilitate trade between the two nations. Both sides explored opportunities to boost cooperation in railroad transit and border trade, aiming to strengthen economic ties.
According to Mehr News Agency, the visit underscores Iran's commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan, particularly in the transport and transit sectors. The report added that the meetings aimed to identify new avenues for collaboration and address any existing challenges in trade and transit.
