Iran determined to expand relations with Iraq in all areas

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, during a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein in Baghdad on Sunday, stated that Iran is determined to expand relations with Iraq in all areas. Araghchi noted that his visit to Baghdad takes place under special circumstances, marking his first trip after what he described as the US and Israeli war of aggression against Iran and the heroic resistance of the Iranian people. He thanked the people and government of Iraq for adopting good positions in condemning the US and Israeli aggression against Iran.

Araghchi also mentioned that the second purpose of his trip to Iraq is to congratulate the new Iraqi government, and this is the first visit after its formation. He added that joint meetings will be held with the Headquarters to Perform Funeral of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in Iraq.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein welcomed Araghchi's presence in Baghdad, emphasizing the importance of the visit. He stated that Iraq attaches great importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields and that Araghchi will have intensive and expert-level meetings with Iraqi officials.

According to Mehr News, the press conference highlighted the strong bilateral ties between Iran and Iraq, with both sides expressing commitment to further cooperation.
