An informed source close to the Iranian negotiating team in Geneva told Tasnim news agency that Iran has no intention to hold negotiations with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Rafael Grossi. The source stated that Grossi's presence in Switzerland does not mean he will participate in talks with Iran. The Americans had proposed that Grossi be present in the negotiations, but Iran rejected the idea. According to the source, the goal of the Iranian negotiating team is simply to fulfill Article 13 of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States, with special emphasis on Article 1 of the MoU and issues such as pursuing the release of Iranian assets and the lifting of oil sanctions. The report by Mehr News Agency added that the Iranian delegation is focused on these specific objectives and does not plan to engage with the IAEA chief during the Geneva meetings.
