Iranian Government Spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said in a post on her X account late on Monday that Iran will continue to build, stand and defend its rights relying on its people. She wrote that American authorities and officials have set a new deadline several times, this time for Iran's economy, and addressed US officials by saying that before announcing a new deadline they should review the expiration dates of their forecasts.
The statement follows earlier remarks by Mohajerani. On September 1, she had condemned anti-Iran policies adopted by the United States, saying that Tehran will adopt the same approach towards Washington. The latest post reiterates that position and frames Iran's response as dependent on domestic public support rather than external pressure.
The spokeswoman's comments come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, which have repeatedly issued deadlines and warnings concerning Iran's economy and other matters. Mohajerani's message did not specify what new deadline was being referenced or what measures it might entail.
According to Mehr News, the government spokeswoman made the remarks in a social media post, and the report noted her earlier condemnation of US policies on September 1.
