Iran's Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has called for the establishment of Persian-speaking communities, proposing a union that could enhance cultural and civilizational cooperation across the Persian-speaking world. The proposal was made during a meeting with Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Dalir Jum'a, in Tehran.
Aref emphasized that Iran and Tajikistan share a deep cultural, civilizational, and linguistic heritage, which provides a strong foundation for expanding bilateral relations. He stated that the two countries' strategy is to develop ties at all levels and that there are no major obstacles to cooperation. Referring to the growth of economic and trade relations in recent years, the Iranian vice president acknowledged progress but noted that the level of relations remains below the desired level.
Highlighting Iran's scientific, technical, and engineering capabilities, Aref said the Islamic Republic is ready to share its achievements with friendly and neighboring countries. He stressed that the proposed union of Persian-speaking communities should be seriously pursued during official visits and meetings between Iran and Tajikistan.
For his part, Jum'a said that economic, commercial, and cultural relations between the two countries have grown in recent years. He added that continued bilateral cooperation could help remove the remaining bureaucratic obstacles.
According to Mehr News Agency, the meeting underscores the ongoing efforts by both nations to strengthen ties, building on their shared language and history. The proposal for Persian-speaking communities is seen as a step toward deeper integration and cooperation among Persian-speaking nations.
