Iran cabinet reviews reconstruction of refineries and South Pars oil and gas sites

The Iranian cabinet met on Wednesday morning under the chairmanship of President Masoud Pezeshkian to review the latest measures taken to rebuild the country's refineries and oil and gas facilities, with particular attention to the South Pars region, according to Mehr News Agency (MNA).

During the session, ministers and cabinet members discussed executive issues and matters related to the missions and responsibilities of executive bodies. A report was presented on the latest actions and arrangements for reconstruction across various regions of the country, especially South Pars.

Emphasizing the need to speed up reconstruction, coordinate among responsible bodies and continuously follow up on executive measures, the cabinet decided that progress reports on the reconstruction operations be submitted weekly. This arrangement is intended to allow the process, the level of progress and related executive requirements to be reviewed and pursued on a continuous basis.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also presented a report to cabinet members on the latest status of consultations and negotiations with delegations that had traveled to Iran to finalize the conclusions of the talks. The cabinet meeting did not provide further details on the content of those consultations.

The session reflects the administration's focus on restoring and developing energy infrastructure, including refinery capacity and oil and gas installations in the South Pars area. The decision to require weekly reporting indicates that the cabinet intends to monitor the pace of reconstruction work through regular updates from the responsible bodies.

According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the meeting covered both the reconstruction file and the foreign ministry's report on ongoing consultations with visiting delegations.
