SaveIran army spokesman says US adventurism could widen war, vows continued readiness
Iran's Army Spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said in a post on his X account on Saturday that any new US military adventurism in the region could expand the scope of the war, according to Mehr News. "Embark on an adventure; we are expanding the geography of war," General Akraminia wrote, in remarks carried by the agency.
The spokesman said the end of any new US war would not be in Washington's hands. "Should the US president, swayed by the threats and inducements of the Zionists, embark on yet another act of adventurism in the region, the flames of war will undoubtedly spread across a much wider geographical area and bringing that war to an end will no longer be in Washington's hands," he said.
Akraminia also referred to what he described as the US president's record on diplomacy, saying the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran remains distrustful of and indifferent to the adversary's actions and is ceaselessly enhancing its combat readiness. He did not provide further details on specific measures or timelines.
The statement comes amid ongoing regional tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran. The spokesman's remarks were posted on social media and did not elaborate on specific military deployments or exercises.
According to Mehr News, the comments were published on the spokesman's X account on Saturday and focused on the potential consequences of further US military action in the region.
