Iran's Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday night recommending that Iranian nationals refrain from unnecessary travel to France, Belgium and Italy, and avoid visiting areas affected by unrest, according to Mehr News Agency (MNA).
The statement, issued by the ministry's Public Relations Office, also advised Iranians currently in the three countries to avoid high-tension areas and locations where clashes are taking place, and to refrain from unnecessary travel, particularly in areas experiencing unrest.
Citing the possibility of further escalation, the ministry warned of travel restrictions and disruptions to public transportation services. It urged Iranian nationals to check the latest security situation and transportation conditions before making any journeys.
The ministry further advised Iranians in France, Belgium and Italy to keep the contact information of Iran's diplomatic missions in those countries with them.
The statement did not specify which incidents of unrest prompted the advisory. According to Mehr News Agency, the guidance was issued as a public notice to Iranian citizens traveling in or planning to visit the three European countries.
