SaveIran FM Spokesman: International Silence on US Attacks Not Neutrality
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei Hamaneh said that the international community's silence on US attacks against Iran is not neutrality. He made the remarks after a deadly US strike on a residential home in Kuhestak, in the southern city of Sirik, Hormozgan Province, where people were attending a wedding.
According to the Mehr News Agency, Baghaei said the strike was part of a wider series of US attacks in Minab, Lamerd, Qeshm and elsewhere. The United States struck a residential house in Kuhestak last week while a wedding ceremony was being held there. As a result of the attack, four civilians, including a four-year-old child, were killed and more than 70 civilians were injured.
The spokesman's comments highlight Iran's view that the lack of international condemnation of such attacks amounts to tacit approval, rather than genuine neutrality. The attacks have been described by Iranian officials as part of US-Israeli aggression against Iran, including threats against Iran's nuclear facilities.
The incident in Sirik is part of a series of US strikes that have targeted various locations in Iran, raising tensions in the region. The Iranian government has repeatedly called on the international community to take a clear stance against these actions.
According to the report by Mehr News Agency, Baghaei emphasized that silence in the face of such attacks is not a neutral position but rather encourages further aggression. He urged international bodies and countries to condemn the US attacks and support the rights of the Iranian people.
The attack in Kuhestak has been condemned by Iranian officials, who have vowed to respond to such violations of sovereignty. The international community's response, or lack thereof, remains a point of contention for Iran, which sees it as a failure to uphold international law and human rights principles.
