Iranian security forces arrested six members of a terrorist group in Bampur, in southern Sistan and Baluchestan province, during a joint operation, according to Mehr News. The operation, which involved a pursuit, took place on Tuesday, local officials said.

Three Kalashnikov rifles, a handgun, seven magazines and 172 rounds of ammunition were seized from the group, the report said. The deputy governor of Sistan and Baluchestan for security affairs confirmed the arrests and said security forces were continuing operations to clear the area of terrorists.

The official added that the Armed Forces and security agencies would announce further details of the operation in the near future. No information was given on the identities of those arrested, the group they were said to belong to, or any casualties during the pursuit.
