Iran Parliament Speaker Warns No Infrastructure Safe If Iran's Security Not Ensured

Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf addressed an open session of the parliament on Wednesday, commemorating the martyrs of the eight-year Sacred Defense (the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-1988) and those of the 12-day and 40-day wars, particularly the defenders of security. In his remarks, Ghalibaf emphasized, "In a region where we do not sell oil, no one else will sell oil either; and if our security is not ensured, no infrastructure will be safe." He also took the opportunity to honor the memory of former Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah, martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, on the occasion of his second martyrdom anniversary, stating that Nasrallah transformed Hezbollah from a guerrilla group into a deterrent force that redefined the region's security equations.

Ghalibaf dismissed US claims regarding the Strait of Hormuz as baseless and stressed that Iran's response to any aggression would be painful and swift. He said the enemy thought that by removing resistance commanders it could stop the Resistance Movement in Lebanon, but the experience and developments of the past two years showed that the Resistance does not rely on an individual; rather, a structure has been formed that has led the enemy to a dead end and desperation in any scenario. He added that the enemies and all freedom-seeking people of the world witnessed that the pure blood of martyred commanders of the Resistance Movement made this movement more alive and powerful.

Turning to US policies, Ghalibaf pointed to what he described as US bullying and coercion, stating, "The US officials should know that the era of intimidation and threats to destroy the civilized nation has come to an end. White House leaders must realize that the valiant and history-making nation of Iran will never back down in the face of posturing, rhetoric, or aerial and commercial blockades." He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran's response to any act of aggression or adventurism will be severe, swift, and precise. He also warned that if Iran is prevented from selling oil in the region, no other country will be able to sell oil there either, and that no infrastructure will be safe if Iran's security is not guaranteed.

According to Mehr News, the parliament speaker's remarks came amid heightened tensions, with Ghalibaf underscoring Iran's stance on regional security and its readiness to respond to any threats.
