Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on Tuesday that any renewed US aggression against Iran would have consequences extending beyond the region, in an interview with Russia's RIA Novosti news agency.
Gharibabadi said the situation in the region is clear and that it is Washington that needs to adjust to regional realities and seek solutions based on diplomacy. He warned that repeating past mistakes by resorting to military scenarios and threats would lead to consequences reaching well beyond the region, adding that the United States must now decide which path to adopt.
The deputy foreign minister said Tehran has always maintained a constructive approach toward diplomacy and negotiations while remaining prepared for any possible scenario. He did not specify what measures Iran might take or what scenarios it is preparing for.
His remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States over regional security and the status of diplomatic efforts. Tehran has repeatedly said it favors negotiations but will respond to any military action.
According to Mehr News, Gharibabadi made the remarks in the interview with RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
