Iranian Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened until seven conditions set out by senior Iranian security officials are met, according to Mehr News. He warned that any renewed aggression or adventurism in the region would not lead to the strategic waterway being reopened, and said Washington must accept the conditions communicated to it through Iranian political and security officials.
Speaking about a recent meeting between Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei and senior military commanders, Akraminia said the Leader had outlined several strategic directives on regional developments and the readiness of the Armed Forces. He said these included maintaining intelligent combat readiness by combining hard and soft power capabilities, ensuring a swift response to any enemy aggression, and delivering an effective response able to deter an adversary from further attacks.
Akraminia said the Leader's emphasis on an effective response had been issued as a command, and that the Armed Forces would direct operational efforts toward tangible results and making any aggressor regret its actions. He also highlighted a directive for a response without geographical restrictions, noting that the United States maintains military bases and deploys forces and equipment beyond West Asia. On that basis, he said, Iran's Armed Forces would regard all US enemy assets, both tangible and intangible, as potential targets without geographical limits in the event of aggression.
The spokesman also referred to the achievements of the Iranian Armed Forces in the recent war, citing increased national cohesion and the readiness of the forces. He described the seven conditions as the sole path to reopening the Strait of Hormuz and reiterated that neither renewed aggression nor further provocations would bring about the waterway's reopening.
During the meeting with senior commanders, Ayatollah Khamenei, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, underscored intelligent combat readiness as a prerequisite for maximum deterrence and ordered an immediate, impactful and geographically unrestricted response to any threat. According to Mehr News, the Army spokesman's remarks centered on the seven conditions and on the Leader's directives to the military.
