According to a report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) citing informed sources, Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is expected to meet with an Iranian delegation in Geneva on Friday. The meeting is anticipated to take place as negotiations over the Islamabad memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States near completion.

Grossi had previously stated that the IAEA would participate in Iran-U.S. talks in Switzerland. However, an informed source had earlier told media that the Iranian delegation had suspended its trip to Geneva due to continued Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon. No further details were immediately available.

The Islamabad MoU, reportedly a framework for cooperation between Iran and the IAEA, has been a subject of discussions aimed at resolving outstanding issues related to Iran's nuclear program. The meeting in Geneva is seen as a crucial step in finalizing the agreement.

According to the report by Mehr News Agency (MNA), the development comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with ongoing Israeli military operations in Lebanon affecting diplomatic schedules. The IAEA has not officially commented on the meeting yet.
