IRGC Spokesman Advises US Forces to Return to Bay of Pigs

In a social media post, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, the spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that the recent capture of what he described as the U.S. Army's most advanced 2025 submarine drone demonstrated that no advanced technology can bypass Iran's surveillance layers in the Strait of Hormuz.

Addressing U.S. military forces directly, Mohebbi asserted that control over the Persian Gulf belongs to the Iranians. He advised the U.S. forces to "Return to the Bay of Pigs," a reference to the failed 1961 U.S.-backed invasion of Cuba.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with frequent confrontations in the Persian Gulf region. The IRGC has previously announced the capture of unmanned underwater vehicles, claiming they were violating Iranian territorial waters.

According to Mehr News Agency, the statement was made on social media, and no further details were provided about the specific incident or the drone's capture. The report did not include any response from the U.S. military.

The Bay of Pigs reference is historically significant as a symbol of U.S. military failure, and Mohebbi's use of it appears to suggest that any U.S. attempt to challenge Iran's control in the Gulf would similarly fail.
