SaveIran FM Spokesman: Germany's UNSC Defeat Reflects Global Outrage Over Gaza Stance
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated on Friday that Germany's failure to secure a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the first time in decades is a clear rebuke from the international community. In a post on his X account, Baghaei attributed this diplomatic setback to Germany's irresponsible, hypocritical, and complicit stance regarding the genocide in Gaza and US-Israel's military aggression against Iran.
Baghaei highlighted that Germany is one of the largest suppliers of lethal weapons to Israel and has consistently justified the genocide of Palestinians. He further criticized Berlin for refusing to condemn the Israeli regime's aggression on Iran, instead describing it as "dirty work that Israel is doing for all of us."
The spokesman emphasized that the world is changing, and nations are now judging governments by their actual behavior rather than their rhetoric about international law. He warned that those who ignore this shift will inevitably pay a heavy diplomatic price.
According to Mehr News, Baghaei's remarks come amid growing international criticism of Germany's foreign policy, particularly its unwavering support for Israel in the face of widespread condemnation of Israeli actions in Gaza and Lebanon. The UNSC vote, which saw Germany lose its bid for a non-permanent seat, is seen as a significant diplomatic blow to Berlin.
