Iranian General Shekarchi Praises 200 Nights of Nationwide Demonstrations

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesman for Iran's Armed Forces, issued a message on the 200th night of nationwide demonstrations that have continued since the US and Israeli war of aggression began on February 28, 2026. In his statement, Shekarchi praised the Iranian people for their sustained participation in the nightly rallies, saying that their presence has disrupted the enemy's calculations.

Shekarchi emphasized that the true power of Iran lies in the unwavering support of its people, more than in any equipment or weaponry. He described the bond between the Ummah and the jurisprudent (Velayat) as unbreakable and eternal. The general added that military commanders and forces consider the warmth of the public's presence as their greatest asset and source of motivation for safeguarding national interests.

According to the report, by early March, citizens across Iran's major metropolitan centers and rural provinces had established a routine of gathering in public squares every night after sunset. These nightly vigils serve a dual purpose: they act as a massive morale-boosting mechanism for the armed forces, with crowds frequently directing chants and solidarity toward frontline soldiers of the Army and the IRGC. Additionally, they function as a rejection of Western psychological warfare. Participants routinely light candles for the martyrs, wave national flags, and chant anti-oppression slogans, signaling an unwavering refusal to capitulate to foreign coercion or economic strangulation.

The demonstrations have been ongoing for 200 consecutive nights, marking a sustained public response to the conflict. General Shekarchi's message highlighted the importance of public support in maintaining national resilience.
