The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has released updated casualty figures, reporting that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli offensive has reached 72,961 since October 7, 2023. The number of injured stands at 173,092, according to the ministry's daily statistical report.
Over the past 48 hours, the bodies of five martyrs were transferred to hospitals in the Gaza Strip. Among them, two were newly deceased, one died from severe injuries, and one was recovered from under the rubble. During the same period, 49 people were injured as a result of continued Israeli aggression.
The ministry noted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, with rescue teams unable to reach them due to field conditions.
Since the implementation of a ceasefire on October 11, 2024, the number of martyrs has reached 951, with 2,984 injured and 782 bodies recovered. The total number of martyrs since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, has increased to 72,961, and the number of injured to 173,092.
According to the Mehr News Agency, the report highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with medical facilities struggling to cope with the scale of casualties.
