Funeral procession for Ayatollah Khamenei held in Karbala

KARBALA, Jul. 09 (MNA) – The funeral and farewell ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, were held in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq. Thousands of mourners gathered to pay their respects, with processions moving through the streets near the shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.). The event included prayers and recitations, reflecting the deep reverence for the late leader among Shia communities. According to Mehr News, the ceremonies underscored the strong ties between Iran and Iraq, as well as the enduring legacy of Ayatollah Khamenei's leadership. The body was later transported for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
