Iran FM Congratulates Lebanon on Resistance and Liberation Anniversary

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi sent separate messages to Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri and Secretary General of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem, congratulating the Lebanese government, nation, and resistance on the anniversary of the "Resistance and Liberation" holiday.

In these messages, Araghchi congratulated the Lebanese people on their historic victory in expelling the Zionist regime from southern Lebanon in 2000. He emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran's continued and resolute support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Lebanon, as well as the legitimate resistance of the Lebanese people against occupation and aggression by the Zionist regime.

According to Mehr News Agency (MNA), the messages highlighted Iran's unwavering stance on supporting Lebanon's rights and its resistance against Israeli occupation. The anniversary marks a significant event in Lebanese history when Israeli forces withdrew from southern Lebanon in May 2000, ending an 18-year occupation.
