SaveErdogan warns against Israeli attempts to undermine US-Iran deal
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Saturday in Istanbul, alongside Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, that Israel must not be allowed to undermine the recent understanding between the United States and Iran. Erdogan emphasized that "no solution that does not take strength from the will and contributions of regional countries can be lasting." He added, "We are closely following the Israeli administration’s attempts to dynamite the (U.S.-Iran) deal … The current war-addicted Israeli government must not be allowed to drown our geography in the smell of gunpowder and blood again."
Erdogan has repeatedly accused Israel of trying to sabotage the US-Iran memorandum of understanding. He has also consistently condemned Israeli attacks in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. The remarks come amid ongoing tensions in the region, with delegations from the US and Iran having convened in Qatar last week for indirect talks to advance negotiations following recent exchanges of fire.
According to Mehr News Agency, the Turkish president's comments reflect Ankara's concern over regional stability and its opposition to any actions that could escalate conflict. The presence of the Pakistani prime minister at the event underscores the diplomatic engagement between Turkey and Pakistan on regional issues.
