SaveGhalibaf: Diplomacy Must Consolidate Battlefield Achievements
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that diplomacy must consolidate battlefield achievements and protect the gains made by fighters. He made these remarks during a meeting with Hamas political leader Mohammad Darwish, who was in Tehran to attend the funeral ceremony of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Ghalibaf emphasized that negotiations should be capable of resolving military conflicts while safeguarding the achievements of fighters. He added that diplomacy could succeed only if the country remained prepared to defend itself. Referring to his experience heading Iran's negotiations with the United States, Ghalibaf said that Tehran insisted on including respect for the territorial integrity of regional countries and an end to military action against Iran's allies in the resistance front in any agreement. He noted that these provisions were incorporated into the memorandum of understanding with Washington.
Ghalibaf further stated that Iran would continue supporting Muslim nations and allied resistance groups in line with the guidance of the country's leadership. He clarified that such support could take military or political forms, including negotiations.
Darwish, for his part, said that the United States and Israel had failed to defeat Palestinian resistance in Gaza or achieve their objectives against Iran during the recent war. He praised Iran's diplomatic achievements in its agreement with Washington, particularly provisions concerning Tehran's regional allies. Darwish added that Iran has managed to shift the balance in favor of the Islamic Ummah through diplomacy.
According to Mehr News, the meeting highlighted the ongoing coordination between Iran and Hamas on regional issues and the role of diplomacy in supporting resistance movements.
