Iran says defense production has risen 2.5-fold since Ramadan war

Iran's Defense Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Reza Talaeinik said at a news conference in Tehran on Tuesday that the country's production of defense equipment and weapons has increased to 2.5 times the level seen before the Ramadan war, with some weapons seeing more than threefold growth. He said defense programs have been adjusted to wartime needs.

Talaeinik described the current period as a phase of consolidating successes and finalizing the enemy's defeat during what he called more than seven months of sacred defense operations. He attributed these achievements to the efforts of the people, the armed forces, the leadership of the Islamic Revolution, and cooperation among the pillars of the Islamic Establishment.

Addressing what he described as enemy psychological warfare and recent narratives about possible aggression or hostile acts by American and Zionist adversaries, the spokesman said any act of aggression or hostility will be met with a decisive response from the Islamic Republic of Iran and will result in heavy defeats for the enemy. He said national strength and resistance are the primary strategy for finalizing the enemy's defeat and securing the rights of the Iranian nation, adding that eradicating the US military presence from the region and ending what he called the Zionist regime's acts of evil would be among the major achievements of the recent Sacred Defense, referring to the 12-day and 40-day wars. He said this process would be brought to completion through current and future events.

Talaeinik said punishing American and Zionist murderers and terrorists is the firm resolve of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and that under no circumstances would the crimes committed by enemies against the country, including the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ali Khamenei, innocent children, students, and other victims, be forgotten.

Referring to the ministry's performance over the past seven months, he said that following the martyrdom of former Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, the Ministry of Defense was led by Brigadier General Ebn al-Reza, and this period was marked by various successes and served to continue the legacy established during Nasirzadeh's tenure.

On defense production growth, Talaeinik said that three months ago the ministry announced that the production volume of indigenous weapons and equipment had roughly doubled compared to the period prior to the 40-day war, also known as the Ramadan War, but that figure has now risen to 2.5 times. He described the increase as the result of taking advantage of maximum capabilities of knowledge-based companies and the efforts of the country's defense industry sector. He added that the strategic depth of arms logistics, the indigenous nature of defense weaponry and equipment, and the expansion of domestic production capacity are key components of national power that enhance the country's resilience against the enemy. According to Mehr News, the spokesman made these remarks during the Tehran news conference.
