China Welcomes Iran-US First-Phase Peace Deal

China has welcomed the first-phase peace deal between Iran and the United States, expressing hope that the two countries will sign the memorandum of understanding as scheduled. During a regular news conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian stated that China hopes all relevant parties will remain committed to the choice of peace and resolve issues through dialogue and negotiation. He added that China is ready to work with the international community to continue playing a positive role in restoring peace and tranquility in the Persian Gulf region of the Middle East as soon as possible.
