Iranian MP Boroujerdi Details 14-Clause MoU with US

In an interview with local Iranian media on Tuesday, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a senior Iranian lawmaker, provided details of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States. Boroujerdi stated that the Americans attacked Iran under pressure from the prime minister of the Zionist regime, which he described as usurping and child-killing. He added that Donald Trump was the first U.S. president to succumb to pressure from the Zionist regime and make a miscalculation.

Referring to the MoU, Boroujerdi said, "The 14-clause MoU is very important and significantly secures the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Of course, we have always been pessimistic about the Americans and they may break their promises and not fulfill their commitments." He noted that the Americans are forced to fulfill their commitments due to the World Cup and upcoming U.S. Congress elections. As a first sign of implementation, he mentioned that several Iranian ships easily passed through the Strait of Hormuz, which had been under blockade.

Boroujerdi also highlighted another provision of the MoU, stating, "We have created conditions for them to effectively recognize the Resistance Front as strategic allies of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The fact that the first clause of the 14-point MoU on not attacking Lebanon means that they have recognized Lebanon as one of the most important parts in the chain of the Resistance Front, and Trump has accepted this; this is the first clause of the document that is to be signed."

According to Mehr News, Boroujerdi's remarks shed light on the content and implications of the Iran-US MoU, which has been a subject of speculation. The agreement appears to address regional issues, including the security of Lebanon and the Strait of Hormuz, while also acknowledging the role of the Resistance Front, a network of groups aligned with Iran.
